Let us look at why motivation and inspiration play such important roles in your life and what you can do to bring out one more frequently or maximize the motivational benefits when you choose to use them.

What is an inspiration? 

A feeling that ignites your imagination and encourages action. When you feel inspired, it’s like a light bulb going off in your head. You have this amazing idea that you can’t wait to execute!

When you experience inspiration, it occurs suddenly, often out of nowhere. It’s great when things come to you easily and naturally — like seeing something that inspires you or reading something that makes you want to reach out and touch someone! Inspiration can be motivating in its own right, but it’s not always immediate or easy to achieve.

For example, While writing your first novel, you may feel inspired by all the great authors who have come before you. You’ll wonder if there’s anything left for you to do in this field and feel that you’re starting with more knowledge than many others who’ve done it before you.

What is motivation?

An internal drive that compels you to take action. Motivation is often elusive. If you’re waiting for motivation to strike, you may be waiting a long time – and in the meantime, you could miss out on some awesome opportunities.

But motivation can be hard to come by, especially in today’s fast-paced world where work deadlines are looming, and your inbox keeps filling up with new tasks.

Motivation drives us forward when we’re not inspired by anything external. This internal drive compels us to take action when we want to do something new or exciting. We have no choice but to try new things because our motivation drives us to achieve something we didn’t think we could do before.

What’s the difference between inspiration and motivation?

The difference between inspiration and motivation is the source of the feelings. Inspiration comes from within; motivation comes from outside.

If you have an inspirational idea, your brain tries to help you find solutions or ways out of a situation. You will think about it a lot, but you won’t be able to find any solutions yourself because they are still new in your mind and need time to develop.

But if you have a motivational idea, someone else has already found it through experiments or experience. It can help us solve problems more quickly using what we have already proved effectively.

However, sometimes we feel like we are doing nothing just because we don’t know the best option now! We don’t know where to start with our goals or how exactly we should go about achieving them. That’s why sometimes it feels better when we feel inspired by something than when motivated by someone else’s ideas or stories about other people’s achievements.

In other words, motivation is “what”, and inspiration is “why.” If someone asks you, “Why are you doing this?” then they want an answer in terms of motivation (what) rather than inspiration (why).

How do you know whether you’re inspired or motivated? 

This is a question that I ask myself many times, and one of the most common answers is “it depends”. The truth is that there are no clear, definitive ways to tell the difference between inspiration and motivation.

Inspiration comes first; motivation follows. It does not mean that motivation does not come first in some circumstances, only that it doesn’t always come first in others. For example, your motivation will likely follow suit if you are working on a new project and find yourself inspired by it. But your motivation will likely be lacking if you are at work and do not feel inspired by your job.

The same goes for inspiration and motivation at home. If your family life is very hectic, you may be less motivated to get out of bed in the morning and go to work, even if there are fun things planned for the day ahead. On the other hand, if your family life is peaceful, then your motivation may be high because everything seems so easy!

Motivation is a spark.

Still, it isn’t as motivating as inspiration because it lacks the feeling of accomplishment that comes from seeing yourself accomplish something difficult.

But ask yourself which one you should choose. Well, that depends on what’s more important to you now – doing things because they make your heart happy or doing things because they will make your life better?

For some people, motivation is better at boosting productivity than inspiration.

For some people, motivation is better at boosting productivity than inspiration. They have a greater chance of following through on their goals if they’re motivated by a specific goal or reward. However, others find that inspiration is more effective in getting them to do what they want because it gives them more of an emotional connection with the task.

Assertiveness is about having boundaries, setting limits and standing up for yourself when necessary. Being assertive does not mean being aggressive or angry; it means speaking your mind without fear of rejection or embarrassment, even if it means saying something that may not be popular at first blush.

The best way to get better at being assertive is to practice! The more we practice, the more our brains will learn how to respond appropriately when we find ourselves in uncomfortable situations.

When people comment negatively about you, instead of getting defensive or taking it personally, say “thank you” or “that’s interesting” and move on with your day. You don’t have to agree with everything they say, but they’re just trying to make you feel bad so they can feel better themselves! 

 

Don’t Be a Perfectionist.

It might seem like the easiest way to boost your self-esteem is to be perfect, but that’s the problem. You stop trying when you feel like you can’t do anything right. For example, if you want to lose weight, then set a target of losing 10 pounds every month and see how much weight it takes off in one month? Once you set and achieve the goal, it will motivate you to do more and achieve more.

To boost your self-esteem, you must set small, manageable goals. For example, instead of saying, “I’m going to lose that weight”, try “I’m going to go on a walk every day for at least 10 minutes.” For that to be a goal, you must break it down into smaller steps and create a plan.

You also need to take care of yourself. If you’re feeling down or sad, don’t wait until tomorrow because tomorrow may never come again! Do something right now to help you feel better and be more positive. You can do this, and it’s not as hard as it seems!

 

Think positively and prepare for the worst.

When you think about your strengths, you’ll be able to keep from feeling like a failure. When you focus on your strengths, you can use them to build confidence and improve your self-esteem.

Think about all the things that make you who you are. Some of them might be obvious: family, friends, education, intelligence or professional skills. Other people may see them in you too but not realize how much they mean to you.

Some people feel they have nothing special going on in their lives — they can’t believe they’re as smart or talented as others. But what if those people are dumb? Or stupid? Or an idiot? They’re probably unaware of it because they don’t know how good they are at what they do!

Everyone has some talent or skill that makes them unique — even if we don’t realize it at first glance! It will show in your actions if you think negatively, and the people around you will notice. The more confident you feel, the more likely you will be able to achieve your goals in life.

 

Dress well and groom yourself well.

Dressing well means that when you go out, you wear clothes that fit well, which makes you feel more confident and attractive. You should also dress well when you’re at home if someone comes for a visit or sends a pizza delivery.

Grooming well means that you look good and presentable when you wake up in the morning. You should keep your hair clean and neat and shave or trim your face if necessary so that it doesn’t look like a mess when people see it. 

When you feel good about how you look, it will be easier for you to accept compliments from others and feel good about yourself. You can also try to dress up for special occasions, such as job interviews or social events.

Remind yourself of your strengths

There’s a reason why we’re attracted to people who remind us of ourselves: we already know that they have the qualities we admire. So, if we see someone who reminds us of ourselves, it can be an easy way to boost our self-esteem.

Reminding ourselves of our strengths can help us feel like we’re good at something, even if it’s just small things like being able to type faster than most people or remembering where we put our keys when we leave the house (but only when they’re not in our hand).

For example, remind yourself that you are smart and capable. Remind yourself of all the qualities that make you special in this world, which will help boost your self-esteem.
